Church Planting

In May 2004, I began the journey called “church planting”.   Alison and I packed everything that we owned into a moving truck and left Memphis, TN to meet 3 other couples and launch LifePoint Church in Columbus, OH.  There was this great mix of fear and excitement as we stepped out to pursue what we felt God had spoken so clearly to us about.  As the months rolled by, we saw LifePoint grow from 1 small group of 14 people who met in a home to our current group of over 1250 people who meet for weekly worship gatherings and in 50+ small groups all around the city to connect in Biblical community.

While it has definitely not always been easy, it has been a great experience and these are some things that we have learned along the way in three key areas: leadership, finances and facilities.  I realize that this is not the only way or maybe the best way for your church to function but this is how we function and I hope you find it helpful as you pursue God’s vision for your ministry.  If you find this site helpful and are able to use some of this info in your ministry, I’d love to hear more about what God is doing in your church.  You can contact me at troy@lifepointcolumbus.com
